The Christian Life Survey 2014-2015

The 2014-2015 Christian Life Survey was administered on 25 Christian college campuses fall of 2014. Reporting to the colleges was completed by the end of April 2015.

Results (much like the results from the 2012-2013 administration provided further below on this page) will be added on this page as they become available in May through August, 2015. The results provided here are for 6,074 full-time, traditional age, traditional program respondents from the 22 colleges that provided appropriate information for data weighting.

Previous Research

Christian Life, Christian Identity, and Scripture Engagement Surveys

  • In January and February of 2011 students at Taylor University were invited to participate in a half-hour survey made available online. Of the 1795 students, 592 participated (a 33 percent response rate).
  • The Christian Identity and Scripture Engagement Survey was pilot tested at a church and another Christian Liberal Arts University in 2012

Scripture Engagement Interviews

  • 90 half-hour interviews with respondents to the earlier survey asking about God, the Bible, and their Christian life.
  • Three-pass coding—looking for their understanding of meaning in what they say

Scripture Engagement Field Experiments

  • “Quasi-experiments” data was collected in the fall of 2011 at Taylor University using pre/post data from six Bible classes and 33 small groups trained in one of four different types of Scripture engagement curricula consisting of E-100, Journaling, Lectio Divina, and Hand-copying Scripture.
